Sea Monster was approached by Capitec Bank to create a card game to be used by Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) learners in Grades 7-9 to boost their financial understanding.

With a focus on supporting the StarSaver EMS programme, Budget Champs helps teachers reinforce key financial concepts in a fun, structured way.
Making use of the game’s mechanics and a facilitator’s guide, the game was designed to motivate and enable learners in the classroom whilst also accommodating for independent use, encouraging learners to play at home or among peers to improve their retention and promote valuable conversations about household money management.
