Sea Monster helped Nedbank become the first African bank to launch a Roblox game.

Underpinned by positive money management messages, Chow Town stands out within Roblox as an identifiably South African game intended to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

As a part of many digital firsts for an African bank, Nedbank wanted to provide an entertaining, educational experience on Roblox, targeted at tweens.

The aim was to authentically connect a new generation to the Nedbank brand and brand purpose, empowering them with positive money messages in a culturally relevant context.

Connect, educate and empower a new generation.

We developed Chow Town – a restaurant “business tycoon” game themed around South African foods, characters and the unique cultural experience of the “braai.” The game immerses children in a fully afro-futuristic street market where they can become their own takeaway bosses or spend time socialising with other young entrepreneurs.
